A review of the current status of the paper industry in Germany is presented. The most significant development is the continuous price increase in paper. However, the newsprint and supercalendered (SC) sectors have had limited success. Newsprint suppliers were hit hard by the increase in wastepaper prices, while the SC market continues to be static.
