Automotive engineers are now designing future parts which will use RIM (reaction injection molding) urethane and reinforced RIM (RRIM) for automotive items. Coating systems for these and other flexible substrates are especially formulated elastomeric urethane types. They are either single-package or two-package types. The authors look at the advantages of these coating systems and at some basic requirements that such coatings must meet.
