摘要
A special 360 degree deflection magnet has been installed at the exit of the 150 Mev Geel Electron Linear Accelerator (GELINA). It consists of five sectors with zero gradient fields and is designed to accept a 50% electron energy spread in the beam of the accelerator. The pulse shape transformation by the magnetic field and the conditions for ideal pulse compression are analyzed. This is followed by a description of the magnet and its electron optics. The results of experiments and the operational experience are given.
