摘要
The authors carried out investigations to study the formation of size distribution of coke cooled using dry and wet methods. The effect of mechanical treatment of the coke on physicomechanical properties was also investigated by applying destructive forces to the coke in a small standard drum. The number of revolutions of the drum was taken as the measure of destructive forces being regulated, which are equivalent to the forces in other devices as far as mechanical treatment of the coke is concerned. Dry- and wet-quenched cokes selected from factory sections were subjected to the investigation. It is shown that the dynamics of the change in physicomechanical properties of the dry- and wet-quenched coke have their own particular features depending on the extent of mechanical treatment. Thus, in the starting stages of the mechanical treatment process the M//2//5 index is 1. 3% less and the M//1//0 index 0. 3% less when compared with the same indices for dry coke quenching. In the more thorough mechanical treatment stages, this difference is lessened; using 75 drum revolutions, the M//2//5 and M//1//0 indices are practically the same for the cokes from the different quenching methods.
