摘要：
The electrical properties of crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) is discussed. A new area of research to evaluate and modify XLPE morphology is introduced, that is particularly relevant to solving the problem of water-tree degradation in power cable insulation. This approach provides far greater insight into the physical mechanisms of water-tree formation and prevention than has been obtained in the past by other techniques.
