AISI No. 321 steel is leading in Austria as material for extruding high quality alloy steel tubes. Among technological problems: lubrication; resistance to deformation; extrusion ratio; heat generation by extrusion; extrusion behavior of austenitic steels and influence of delta ferrite; as well as extrusion behavior of ferritic Cr-, and high-speed steels are discussed.
