The European Network for Research in GeoEnergy (ENeRG) has sponsored a study on 'The Outlook for Oil and Gas Production in the North Sea. The need for new technologies or technological improvements in order to increase the production of oil and gas in the North Sea were identified. Forecast recovery levels that result from the implementation of these technologies were determined. Further, the impact of these forecasts on the volume of activity and employment in the European oil and gas industry was estimated.
