Vulcanization of ultrasonically devulcanized SBR elastomers

Sulfur cured SBR elastomers, devulcanised by high power ultrasonic irradiation, were revulcanised by using the same curing conditions as for virgin SBR. Cross-link density and gel fraction of virgin, devulcanised and revulcanised elastomers were measured. Curing behavior of some model compounds based an virgin and devulcanised SBR was investigated.
