THE PAPER PRESENTS GUIDELINES AND SUGGESTIONS SUBSTANTIATEDBY REAL-TIME SIMULATION DATA TO INSURE OPTIMUM TIME AND ENERGY USE OF INJECTED LIQUID NITROGEN FOR COOLING THE LANGLEY 0. 3-METER TRANSONIC CRYOGENIC TUNNEL (TCT). THE RECOMMENDATIONS MADE HEREIN, IF FOLLOWED, WILL RESULT IN MINIMUM TIME AND LIQUID-NITROGEN USAGE DURING TUNNEL COOL-DOWN. THESE OPERATIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED BASED ON INFORMATION COLLECTED FROM A VALIDATED SIMULATOR OF THE 0. 3-M TCT AND EXPERIMENTAL DATA FROM THE TUNNEL.
