Hot-transfer film decoration, including colored films, metallic foils and decorative woodgrains, is described which is applied to custom plastics profiles in a continuous, in-line process that enhances the appearance and value of the end product. Crane Plastics, Inc. now offers this finishing operation that adds value to the plastics profile without adding the significant costs associated with secondary handling. Hot-transfer films can now be applied to most thermoplastics directly as they are extruded, yielding woodgrain and brushed metal designs, metallic colors, pigment colors, chrome, silver and gold effects.
