摘要：
A model of the formation of the cavity of cut in plasma-arc cutting is proposed. The model considers electrical and thermophysical features, and it makes it possible to calculate the width of cut along the coordinate z. The calculated values are in satisfactory qualitative agreement with the profile of actual cut edges.
