摘要
The article surveys the various phenomena encountered in pumps for various levels of suction pressure. Industrial examples illustrate these phenomena and bring to light their importance. Finally, the research tools used to study them and to overcome the present limitations are reviewed. Emphasis is made, in particular, on the possibility of predicting cavitation pockets either from numerical models of the flow or from experiments on actual models. Studies on erosion are also listed.
