摘要：
The paper describes an experimental study on determining forces arising upon the impingement of a circular jet onto a circular cylinder transverse to the flow. The forces and pressures acting on the surface at various jet momenta and distances between the line of action of the jet and cylinder axis were determined. It was found that in this case there exist force components which prevent the deviation of the cylinder from the jet axis. This effect can be used in air-cushion devices and vehicles.
