It is shown that treatment with a medium-power explosion increases the reactivity of ferrite oxide mixture and greatly increases the magnetic hardness of low-coercivity ferrites. For example, the coercive force of magnetically soft ferrites under the action of an explosion increases ten- to one-hundredfold, while the initial magnetic permeability decreases two- to three-fold. After subsequent high-temerature sintering the consequences of impact treatment of ferrite powders are completely removed, and magnetic materials with improved characteristics are obtained both from low-coercivity and high-coercivity ferrites.
