Investigations at the G. M. Krzhizhanovskii State Scientific-Research Power Institute show basic trends which may be employed to significantly reduce the capital expenditures in solar power stations and increase their competitiveness with traditional power stations based on organic or nuclear fuel. A type of combined solar-thermal electric power station is considered in comparison with a traditional organic-fuel-based power station.
