摘要
As the processing capacity and speed required from microprocessor systems increases, it is becoming more and more necessary to have supporting devices to relieve the microprocessor of tasks such as data transfer and control of peripherals. These allow the microprocessor to do what it was actually designed to do - namely, process data. One of these supporting devices is the new direct memory access (DMA) controller ADMA, a product designed for total optimization of system performance. The general features and architecture are presented and the operation of ADMA is illustrated. The adaptive bus interface, remote mode, data transfer in single and double cycle operation, transfer control with channel command, command chaining, conditional channel program branching, and multiplexer channel are illustrated.
