摘要
A novel form of linear sequential circuit, which reduces the number of logic levels to one, can be realized by using toggle flip-flops to perform the modulo-2 addition. Only a limited number of characteristic equations exist that may be generated in this manner. But in some important applications, such as pseudo-random sequence generation, this is sufficient. When it can be used, the toggle flip-flop form of linear sequential circuit will offer faster performance at lower cost than either the modular or sequential circuit.
