Temperature and Concentration Dependence of the Diffusion in Liquid Lead-Bismuth Alloys.

An analysis of the temperature dependence of the tracer diffusion of lead and bismuth in liquid Pb-Bi alloys using the method of Gilder and Lazarus shows a correlation between the relative characteristic enthalpies of activation and the relative partial molar enthalpies of mixing. The result is utilized to explain the concentration dependences of the Pb and Bi diffusivities in molten Pb-Bi alloys at 621 K in relation to thermodynamic properties.
