摘要
The article is concerned with special problems involved in the design of hydrodynamic bearings in machine tool construction. After some preliminary assumptions and a brief theoretical survey, the determining parameters, which include absolute and relative bearing clearance, average pressure, bearing material, lubricant and viscosity, relative and minimum lubricating film thickness, the Sommerfeld value, transition speed, friction, operating temperature, and coolant requirements, are discussed in detail.
