The induction of strong pulsed magnetic fields in conducting coils is usually measured in a confined space during a magnetic-field pulse (MFP) under conditions of strong electromagnetic noise. The measurement means used for these purposes, which are Hall probes, inductive integrating transducers in conjunction with standard oscillographic, digital, and other instruments, are characterized by low accuracy, insufficient noise immunity in the measuring channel, and a complicated and time-consuming measurement process. We describe a portable direct-reading teslameter for measuring the maximum inductance of an MFP from 0. 1 to 10 T with a duration of 0. 1-100 msec that has an error of approx. 3%.
