Ten articles by various authors are presented. the topics discussed are the various welding and cutting techniques that can be applied to offshore structures and submarine pipelines includng : wet manual metal arc; water curtain co//2 arc; gravity; firecracker, plasma, explosive and friction welding. The design of hyperbaric chambers for ″habitat welding″ , is discussed as well as potential weldability problems such as hydrogen cracking, solidification cracking, lamellar tearing, HAZ toughness, weld metal toughness, stress corrosion and fatigue.
