On improved calculation of transient dynamic response of rotor-stator system

We measure experimentally the dynamic characteristics of mounting points placed alone (without aeroengine) on an aircraft in order to make calculation of transient response of aeroengine closer to reality. TMM (Transfer Matrix Method) has been successfully applied to rotor (including both inner and outer rotor) calculations. We extend it to stator calculation and reduce the number of degrees of freedom and computation time as compared with conventional stator calculation method. The equations give the transient precession speed and precession acceleration of rotor. Finally a certain type of double-spool aeroengine is taken as example. The results calculated with the extended TMM method agree well with test data. The dynamic characteristics of mounting points placed alone on the test setup are measured.
