The development of offshore production, says the Degremont company, made it necessary to improve the technology of various water treatment processes involved in oil production. Degremont, well-known in the construction of onshore treatment plants in South America, Africa, and the United States, decided to apply their general experience in all types of purification to offshore applications. The company has, in particular, conducted sea water studies in various latitudes and is able to offer complete treatment lines which will cope with any sea water quality. The company's equipment and process developments in this field are highlighted.
