Simulation of luminous environment in interior with windows by personal-computer

Distributions of daylight factor in interior were calculated based upon the Mean Sky in several rooms with windows facing several orientations by using a simulation. The calculated daylight factor distributions were displayed on CRT. The orientations of windows and the shape of iso-daylight factor curves were examined by those kinds of figures. Daylight factor distributions in several rooms of actual dwelling house were measured and calculated at the same rooms, and the calculated and the measured daylight factors were compared and investigated. As the results of the investigation, it was cleared that the simulation was useful for an estimation of luminous environment in interior at design stage of the building under the conditions of various orientations of windows.
