摘要
Simplified toxicity identification evaluation methods were applied to identify the toxic components of complex effluents. The effluent sample was collected from the mother liquor of a chemical works near the Yangzi River, China on July 25, 1996. Toxicity of the effluent was attributed to nonpolar organic compounds: 1-nitro-5-naphthalenesulfonic acid, 1-nitro-6-naphthalenesulfonic acid, 1-nitro-7-naphthalenesulfonic acid, and 1-nitro-8-naphthalenesulfonic acid.
