DEVELOPMENT AND APPLICATION OF A JAPANESE GROUTING SYSTEM.

The authors outline the principles and practical application of a newly-developed grouting system which effectively uses a high-speed water or air-and-water jet to break up the soil prior to grouting. The method involves constructing an underground cutoff wall by injecting grout into a slit made in the soil made by a high-speed water-and-air jet. The basic principle and necessary equipment are described, and a practical example of its use given.
