摘要
The identification of pollution levels in a working environment can be rapidly assessed with the aid of a newly developed high intensity laser densiometer which provides an instant readout of the opacity and permits accurate computation at the mg/m**3 level. In operation, a high intensity laser beam is projected at a height of about 1. 50 meters by an emitter across the factory into a receiver unit for approximately 1 hour. During this time the densiometer will monitor the polllution pattern in accordance with the work cycle. The results of this test are then related to the safe working limits for the particular environment and a calculation is made to ascertain the total filtration capacity necessary to reduce the level and maintain it within the legal requirements.
