In pipe and tube welding, the setting of the welding capacity is usually performed by hand on the basis of a subjective manual assessment. To automate this procedure, a pipe and tube welding installation equipped with a ratio pyrometer providing objective measurements can be used. The temperature fluctuations which it records serve as controlled variables for the high frequency performance control.
