This issue of the journal contains 216 papers, of which 6 are in abstract form only. The papers are grouped under the following topics: aerosol generation, coagulation, nucleation and growth; aerosol mechanics, electrical properties and fundamentals; instrumentation and sampling; optical properties, combustion and emission control; atmospheric aerosols; nuclear aerosols and clean technologies; and biological and indoor aerosols, chemistry and analysis. Some of the subjects discussed are cited as examples: fabrication of semiconductor quantum dots; heat and mass transfer of evaporating tin chloride droplets into chemically active atmosphere; an instrument for measuring electric charge on individual aerosol particles; long path field measurements of aerosol parameters and trace gas concentrations: formation of nitrous acid during foggy periods; ice nuclei concentrations in the vicinity of anthropogenic sources; design of a filter system for PWR containment venting; and transport and deposition of uniform respirable fibers in a physical lung model.
