Operation of rotary furnaces for producing the cement has been considered. Conditions of operation of refractory lining in the furnace have been discussed. Mechanical factors influence service life of the lining have been shown. Actions of the factors on the lining has been described. Stresses arisen in the refractory lining have been analyzed. In this case, mathematical model of the stresses is used. Stresses in the lining conditioned by deformation of body of the rotary furnace, the refractory materials displacement, and other factors have been discussed. Mechanical action of the fired materials on the lining has been considered.
