Mathematical models of a magnetorheological choke (MRC) and a magnetorheological (MR) damper are created which reflect their dynamic processes. The main results are confirmed by experimental data of investigating a mock-up of a pneumohydraulic drive with a MR damper. The investigations confirm the possibility of using the MR effect for creating controlled damping devices, including for positioning actuating elements of pneumatic drives. A simple method of design calculation of such elements was developed. The characteristics of the mock-up of the pneumohydraulic drive determined experimentally agree well with the result obtained by calculation.
