摘要
With projections for world polypropylene (PP) demand of 20 billion lb in 1990 - up more than 5%/yr from 1985's 15. 5 billion lb - the pattern seems set for PP to continue the fastest growth trend of the major plastics. The choice of the process to remain competitive in meeting that strong growth in demand is discussed. Even though bulk and gas-phase techniques are seen as the most promising, some experts say there is not much difference between them, especially as far as the costs are concerned. Meanwhile, many firms are staying with the slurry processes.
