摘要
The macroscopic quantum tunneling of metastable two-component Bose Einstein condensates in a trapping potential was studied. The tunneling decay rate and height of the energy barrier were calculated and thermal effects on the decay rate were analyzed. Results predicted the existence of metastable states whose configuration depended on interspecies interaction and particle numbers. Quantum tunneling was observable in a wide range of particle numbers. Macroscopic quantum coherence between two distinct states was found to give an additional coherent property of two-component Bose condensed systems.
