FIVE WAYS TO EXPLORE FOR SANDSTONE RESERVOIRS.

Several methods are available to the explorationist who studies sandstone reservoirs, and prediction of potentially productive areas within a region and estimate of local trapping conditions are generally more reliable where several methods or techniques are employed. The different types of studies can be categorized as paleostructural, stratigraphic, sedimentologic, petrographic, and hydrodynamic. Although each type is geologic in nature, calibrated geophysical measurements of geologic parameters, especially by seismic techniques, offer a real chance for greater accuracy in prediction. These methods are briefly discussed.
