BIOTOPE MANAGEMENT FOR BIRD STRIKE CONTROL.

Bird strikes, collisions between birds and aircraft, still represent a considerable aviation safety hazard. With the changing of the nature of airport areas and their environment - by themselves or through man-made works, the threat of bird strikes demands constant attention. Many airports ignore their environmental problems and biotope management. The problem can be mastered when it is understood. This article presents a number of findings based upon worldwide observations and statistics.
