摘要:
Manufactured articles sometimes differ from what the designers intended. This may be due to an error in the design, drawings or manufacture of the article. However, if the drawings are correct and the article has been manufactured correctly to them, the cause is almost certainly that the two-dimensional drawings are either ambiguous, fail to define an area, or are incapable of defining a doubly-curved surface adequately. This article shows how computer-aided design can eliminate the problems usually associated with describing three-dimensional shapes on two-dimensional paper.
