摘要：

The influence of preheating on the cold rolling conditions and on the microstructure and mechanical properties of ABNT 1050 steel was studied. The experimental results showed that there is not a significant decrease in the final mechanical properties of the steel - as compared with the material processed without preheating and that there is an appreciable improvement of the cold rolling process. The necesssary conditions for practical applications of preheating are discussed.
