摘要
Copper infiltration of PM steels has been in use for some 40 years. One of the main features of the process is the economical achievement of attractive mechanical properties. Nevertheless, while infiltration with copper improves both tensile and impact properties, the absolute values for impact energy still are rather low. This article presents some of the properties and applications of Cu infiltrated steels. It describes erosion characteristics of several types of copper infiltrants and measures the effects of erosion upon impact energy.
