摘要
Medium carbon steel sheets with carbon content of 0. 45% to 0. 50% - hot-rolled under controlled conditions - have fine pearlitic structure and show high tensile strength of 70 to 90 kg/mm**2 with good formability and high resistance against abrasion. The effects of chemical compositions, hot-rolling conditions, and micro-structures on the mechanical properties of medium carbon steel sheets were investigated under the simulation conditions of the hot-strip mill. The experimental results were verified on the basis of actual output of the hot-strip mill. Possible applications for these steel sheets include many structural components for machinery, where cold formability and abrasive resistance are required.
