Status of amorphous silicon solar cell technologies in Japan

摘要
The present situation of a-Si solar cell technologies in Japan is reviewed and the future prospects toward the industrialization of a-Si solar cell modules for power generation are presented. The conversion efficiency, the stability, and the yield have reached a satisfied level to use a-Si solar cells for electric power generation. The last issue is a production cost, which will be overcome by developing the market and extracting the merits of a-Si solar cells instead of following the production process and applications of conventional solar cell modules.
