摘要
In this investigation an attempt has been made to study the corrosion of mild steel and influence of potassium chromate on it. The effect of chromate on its inhibitive efficiency in aqueous solution of fixed concentration (0. 05M) of sodium sulphate is outlined. The effect of temperature (30-80 degree C) on the inhibition of corrosion of mild steel by chromate in 0. 05M soldium sulphate is shown. Anodic and cathodic polarization curves for mild steel in 0. 05M sodium sulphate solution with and without inhibitor shows no appreciable change in the cathodic polarization is considerably increased. Polarization measurements indicate that chromate controls the anodic process. 21 Refs.
