Poly (hexamethylene isophthalamide) is a thermoplastic material with transparency at high thicknesses, excellent toughness, siffness and hardness and remarkable resistance to numerous organic and inorganic solvents. Based on absolute determination of molecular weight by light scattering the viscosity-molecular weight relationship for poly (hexamethylene isophthalamide) is established in sulfuric acid (96%) as solvent at 25 degree C. By this relationship the possibility is given to determine molecular weights by simple solution viscosity measurements.
