Centrex enables the public telephone network exchange to be used by the private networks of companies and organizations. After describing the numerous benefits of Centrex for user and operator alike and its features and functions, this paper arrives at the conclusion that Centrex together with ISDN, as implemented in the Siemens EWSD system, is an ideal means of business communication.
