摘要
A method of evaluating interfacial adhesion on the basis of the ability of the interface to transfer stresses from the matrix to the fiber is presented. The application of a tensile force to a single fiber contained in the polymer matrix leads to fracture of the fiber into small segments. The number of broken segments increases with interfacial strength. The samples tested were made out of a polyethylene matrix and glass fiber treated by various techniques in order to improve the adhesion.
