Aiming at the status that the effective support of green manufacturing theory and cleaner production technology were lacked in process design stage, the optimization and decision-making model of conceptual design of cleaner production was established. The concept of clean characteristic was put forward to aggregate and describe the environmental information in conceptual design stage of production process. The expression model of environmental information based on the clean characteristic was proposed. Through mapping function, the environmental information could be identified, selected, extracted and aggregated, and the expression model of clean characteristic was set up, which was taken as the basic unit of cleaner production's comprehensive evaluation system to select, reform and improve the production process design according to the evaluation results. An example of granite plate production process was used to verify the feasibility of the extraction, evaluation and feedback process of cleaner production.
