Calculation of elution curve for boron isotope separation in column chromatography

Based on two fundamental assumptions of equilibration plate theory, the computation model is established, the calculation process is programmed and by inputting some essential parameters, every amount of 10B and 11B of each plate in the chromatographic column during the elution is obtained. The curves were as follows: the elution curves of boric acid and 10B isotope under the conditions of different amount of adsorption, and the 10B isotope distribution curves in the chromatographic column of different migration distances during the course of multi-column cyclical separation. The computation results show that the equilibration plate theory model can well explain qualitatively the phenomena of 10B isotope separation of column chromatography such as the plateau zone in the front of elution curve, the most enriched 10B at the rear part of the elution curve, and dependence of atomic fraction of 10B on migration length during the migration.
