摘要
We study the paper of Chang and Dye that investigated the inventory model for deteriorating items with exponential time-varying demand and partial backlogging. The backlogging rate is dependent on the waiting time for the next replenishment. Their research pointed out an important direction for the inventory model with partial backlogging that influenced many future researches. However, there are some questionable results in their pioneer paper. The purpose of this note is threefold. First, we reconsider their model to simplify their computations and expressions. Second, we show their incomplete method and offer a possible theorem to patch the analytical problem. Third, we point out some possible directions for future research.
