摘要
Several experts share their views on the Biosciences knowledge transfer network (KTN) that has been launched with an objective to make the UK a global leader in converting bioscience knowledge into innovative agricultural, food and industrial bioscience products and processes. The Biosciences KTN is organized into four sector groups according to industries it serves such as industrial bioscience, animal breeding and health, plant breeding and crop protection, and food technology and manufacture. Dr David Way, Director of Business Innovation, TSB, has expected that the chemical integration in the classical agriculture and food industries would be replaced by biosciences technologies. TSB has developed a strategy for biosciences, which focuses on genomics, and industrial biotechnology. TSB has been developing a new web platform, -connect platform, for KTN to create new opportunities to network across KTN, exchange ideas from one discipline to another.
