A hierarchical distributed multi-Agent model of hydropower plant predictive maintenance based on multi-Agent theory is proposed, which consists of four layers: data acquisition, data processing, diagnosis & prognosis and maintenance decision-making. A practical structural model is designed for the maintenance Agent, including five elements: belief, capability, behavior queue, behavior dispatch, and message box. The communication among multiple Agents and their cooperation are discussed. An implementation reference model based on multi-Agent middleware JADE is proposed, with which, a prototype of multi-Agent maintenance system for the electro-hydraulic servomechanism of water turbine governing system is established. Its rationality and feasibility are verified.
