Bifurcation and chaos control of a single-degree-of-freedom system with piecewise-linearity

Bifurcation and chaos of periodic motions of a single-degree-of-freedom system with piecewise-linearity is studied. The switching matrix is given and the period-doubling bifurcation of periodic motions of the system is investigated by the Floquet theory. Poincaré map is established and further study on period-doubling bifurcations and chaotic behaviors in the non-smooth system is done by means of numerical simulations. The chaotic behaviors in the system are effectively controlled to the different periodic orbits using the coupling feedback control method and the constant load addition control method.
